Quick Start
The first time you use aNote, you do not need to study every feature first. Follow the steps below and you can quickly complete the main flow of "Write → Organize → Find → Read / Share".
Step 1: Create Your First Note
- On the list page, tap the "+" button in the lower-right corner
- Enter a title on the first line and then write your Markdown content. Line numbers are shown on the left, making it easier to locate, adjust, and rearrange content
- Open Preview at any time to see the final rendered result
- Content is saved automatically, so you usually do not need to remember to save manually
Step 2: Organize Notes (Folders + Tags)
- Use a single folder level to place notes into broad categories
- Add tags in Properties. If you want a hierarchy, use the format
parent/child, for example:work/project - We recommend using “folders define scope, tags provide detail” instead of continuing to create more folders
Step 3: Find It Again
- Use Search at the top of the list to quickly locate a note
- While editing, you can switch quickly between notes through Recently Opened (for example, from the dropdown next to the title)
- The app will try to restore your previous reading, scrolling, and editing position so you can continue where you left off
Step 4: Read, Export, or Share
- Preview: Use the Outline to jump quickly between sections. For more complex layouts and styling, rely on the rendered result in Preview
- Export PDF: In Preview, you can export directly to PDF. PDFs are generated with Typst and support heading bookmarks. After opening the PDF preview, you can also print directly
- Screenshot: While previewing, you can generate a full-page or long screenshot based on the current rendered result, then save it to your photo library or another location (depending on your system and app permissions)
- Youlog: Use the "More" menu to create or update a web share. Once you have the link, you can continue sharing and distributing it
Step 5: Make Writing on Your Phone Easier
- After the keyboard appears, you can use the bottom toolbar to quickly move the cursor, adjust the selection, insert common symbols, or open the Command Panel
- If you have more advanced needs, open the Extensions tab and use JavaScript scripts to process the current selection or the entire note
After completing the steps above, you will already be able to use aNote as a stable tool for writing, organizing, exporting, and sharing.
